Last BH sewing for 2011

Finally I am able to post pictures. Blogger did not like the pictures from my phone. Not real sure what I did, but here are the last of the pictures for the BH kids.

This doll and her clothing went to a luck girl.

 She went in this bag.

A new doll I found and made a few thing for her, for some luck girl.

.
Here she is sporting her new outfit. Not quite a true 18 inch doll, she is a bit smaller.

 A size 5 skirt.

A size 4 boys top.

I also made 2 scarfs with pockets, but the pictues won't load.

A picture test

Stats of the Sew-n-Sewers

For some reason Blogger is not letting me post pictures here. Every time I try to post a picture it boots me out. Hopefully one of my sons (who are home from college) will help me figure this out. I have pictures of the rest of my sewing for the BH kiddos.

Any way here are the stats from my sewing group the Sew-n-Sewers.

2010 - with 13 members we made 879 garments
I personally made 47 garments for the BH kids

2011 - with 10 members we made 895 garments
I personally made 40 garments for the BH kids, 25 personal gifts,

So I am down 7 items for the BH kids from last year. Ugh! So my goal for 2012 is to make more. I am happy that the 25 personal items were gifts, so I guess I can say I sewed a total of 65 item in 2011. Not bad, but not good either.  I know I can make more, I don't have a good excuse as to why I did not sew more, I have the time and some fabric pieces and lots of patterns and some time. So next year is the year for sewing for the homeless starting tomorrow. I have 2 weeks off work so no excuses.

Hopefully I can post pictures soon.

Lets try again

A little embroidery that I drew up.
Very fuzzy Halloween pillow case, made two for a gift for twin boys.
Size 4 pants. I don't know what fabric, but it was a little thick.
Corduroy jumper, size 4.

Corduroy jumper, size 4.
Cotton print jumper, size 4.
Blogger has not let me post, so I am hoping this gets posted. The pictures are bad, I can't get my camera to work. Some of these photos are from my phone. I did do more sewing, but those pictures are on my phone and that will be for another day. I also need to do a count of how many pieces I have sewed for the BH children. More later.

Air Show Part II

Once you think things are going to get easy, it just gets busier and harder. Here are the rest of the pictures from the air show. They were taken by Emily who is taking a photography class at school. She did a great job.

In the last month both Emily and I have paid a visit to Urgent Care for leg problems. We are both doing better, she of course is healing faster than I am. Work is getting harder, we now have 8 special ed. kiddos. I have been coming home mentally and physically tired. I am working on getting Matthew done with Cub Scouts and into Boy Scouts. A lot of hiking and camping in the cold. There is sewing done, but no pictures yet. Emily has the camera in TX now. More on that on a separate post, when she gets back.

Hope to be back soon,

Can't believe it's November

Not sure what happen to October, but here we are November 2nd. I have been very busy and have a lot to show you guys.

But, the most important is that I won a give away!. From Marie at http://marievilla.blogspot.com/. Her little one reminds me so much of my Kevin. She makes lovely name pillows. She also has an Esty shop, but I do not know the name of it.

I won soft wear from http://www.mymemories.com/. Or did I? I think Emily has had more time/fun playing with it. I have been so busy, I am never home or to tired from work to do anything. That will be changing this week. I will now only be out on Tuesday nights for Cub/Boy Scouts. (I hope). Any way, we really, really like My Memories. Thank you Marie.

I will be posting pictures soon of the air show, camping with the Boy Scouts, sewing I have done for the BH kiddos and a few other events. In the mean time I will be delivering Boy Scout Pop Corn and getting Emily ready for her trip to Houston. She was one of 10 girls selected from Girl Scouts to represent New Mexico at the National Girl Scout Meeting in Houston, TX. Makes me proud, but sad, for she will be gone for 5 days. Hope she has fun and learns alot.

More tomorrow.

Snow, Billy Bear

The Sandia mountains on Friday, October 7, 2011.

Snow in the Sandia Mountains.

Balloon with the clouds over the Sandias.

Bee balloon

This one went right over us.

Finally, we got to see the balloons from our street. They really don't come our way.

Billy Bear Balloon. We have a book about him in the class room that I have read a lot the last week. Nice to get a picture of him above my house.

This one is coming over the house.

The Balloon Fiesta was great this year. Lots of new balloons.

Sewing was done, pictures to come. Just need to add buttons and elastic.

Take care,

Erlinda

Balloons, balloons everywhere

The weather had been beautiful for the Balloon Fiesta till today, but the rain was appreciated. It has been so dry here.

With all the balloons here, traffic going to work has been heavy, the kids don't want to be in the classrooms neither do we as adults. There are so many balloons, its beautiful. Fall break is Friday and I will be up early looking for new balloons in the blue skies. Hoping to find one landing so Matthew can help pack up.

Then I really want (need) to sew. It has been a very stressful week. I have had so many medical emergencies with my special ed kiddos. All are fine now and I hope it stays that way.

Matthew & I have spent the week looking at Boy Scout Troops. I can't believe he will be a Boy Scout in a few months. He will be sticking with Troop 200.

Erlinda

A little sewing and a Birthday

Wow! Someone donated this little beauty to sewing club, and since I did not have a serger the gals let me bring it home to use. For as long as I want. It was recently serviced and runs beautiful. I just need to learn how to use it.

Sewing is going to be a lot more fun.

A Halloween pillow case made with the serger. I have a few more cut out for gifts.

A cute summer top for the BH. It is cooling down here so I will have to move on to more fall/winter items to sew. Pants will be so much easier on the serger. After this week I will only be gone on Tuesday nights for Cub/Boy Scouts, so looking forward to that.
More sewing time for the kids at the BH.

This guy turned 11 earlier this week. He made his own cake this year. Can't believe how fast he is growing. Soon, very soon he will be in middle school.

Not looking forward to that.

If anyone reads this blog, you will be seeing some changes, till I find something I like.

Happy Fall and take care,

Erlinda

PJ's

The weather is cooling down here and I had NO where to be this Saturday, so, I finally made Matt some pajama pants ( I had been trying all summer to get these done). Yes, they are a little big, but this kid likes to move a lot and keeps growing. The fabric comes from my late mother-in-laws stash. It is a hockey print. They do have a navy blue cuff on the bottom, but my camera was in one of its moods and only let me take 2 pictures.

Hope they keep him warm on these cool nights. Next time I will go a little smaller on the legs and cuffs, but keep the length. He does want me to make him some more. Yea!

I also worked on my blue work snowman quilt, but could not get a picture. Also, putting together a blanket quilt that my mom hand made. Hope to finish that today. I also have three pair of jeans to alter plus one top. Then I need to work on some more doll cloths. I found another doll, so I better get to work making fall and winter clothes for her and Dolly.

Take care,

Erlinda
